Acupuncture & Acupressure

Acupuncture is an Ancient Chinese method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting very thin needles (acupuncture) or applying manual pressure (acupressure) at very precise acupuncture points in the skin. The purpose of this procedure is to correct imbalances in the flow of the life force energy Qi as it is disruption in this flow that underlies all physical or psychological ailments.

Body Stress Release

Body Stress Release offers a gentle and effective way to release stored tension from the muscles and works with your body’s natural desire to be stress-free. This stored tension may be the cause of the discomfort or other symptoms you may be experiencing including; backache, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, cramp, constipation, vulval pain or anxiety to name but a few. Body Stress Release uses information provided by the body to determine where stored tension may be undermining the efficiency of the nervous system, disturbing the body’s ability to co-ordinate its functions and perform at its full potential.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a non-directive, non-analytical, non-invasive approach - essentially the art of listening and enabling the body to heal itself. Using a very light touch at key body points, practitioners monitor the rhythm of cerebrospinal fluid which surrounds the brain and the spinal cord  to pinpoint the source of an obstruction or stress. Once the source has been determined, they can assist the natural movement of the fluid to help the body self-heal.

Movement-Based Approaches

When words fail, dance and movement are an accurate way to sense, understand and bring into expression feelings, memories, words and images that have been locked up deep inside just waiting to be given space to. There is no right or wrong way to move, no movement experience necessary, only a willingness to listen to ourselves and follow the next movement as it wants to happen. It offers you the freedom to discover how you relate to yourself, others and the environment, encouraging you to find variations in your movements, challenging any fixed sense of self and giving you the space to create new choices through your body. A time to welcome in reflection, unwinding, releasing tension, enhancing your confidence and building strength and flexibility in your body, heart and mind.
