Philippa is a fully qualified, accredited and experienced Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist and group facilitator with a history of working in the voluntary, public and private sector, including the Priory (now called Elysium Healthcare) in Hove.
She has worked with clients with a wide range of mental health issues on an individual basis, short and long-term, in addition to facilitating a wide range of groups which include the following:
- CBT theory and practice
- Self-esteem and assertiveness
- Stress and Anxiety management
- Managing Depression/guilt/shame
- Anger Management
Areas of interest – Self-Worth, Creative Arts, Psycho-spiritual Development
In addition to Psychology, Philippa has a background in the arts and humanities, and as an artist herself, she is very interested in accessing latent creativity, and how utilising this can aid the healing process and increase a sense of self-worth.
Her own therapeutic journey has led her to explore spirituality and its many paths. This evolved into creating personal/transpersonal development workshops that integrate conventional therapeutic tools and techniques (including CBT) with more alternative, creative methods using art, visualisation/meditation.
As a self-employed, married mother of two children, Philippa has plenty of personal experience of the challenges of juggling /balancing family, work, friends and self-care. Or rather, of finding a way to integrate all aspects and areas of her life into some sort of cohesive whole. She believes that every individual has a right to experience meaning, purpose and joy and their life, and is passionate about collaborating with people to help them to remove the obstacles that are blocking this process.
